Rebel Bear Honey was started with the shared vision of bringing exceptional honey into the U.S. market. Natural infused honey that’s as flavorful as it is beautiful, and that tells a story of tradition, craftsmanship, and passion. While the journey began some 40 years ago in the picturesque plains of Hungary’s Hortobágyi National Park, it's now a story that’s proudly carried forward by Attila and Melvin - the dynamic duo behind the rebellion.
Attila is the beekeeper behind the honey. Growing up on the Gál family farm in Hungary, he learned beekeeping from his father, Alexander, who established the family’s apiary over 40 years ago. With over 15 years of experience, Attila has grown the family farm from a modest collection of hives, to over 300 today. Now, through Rebel Bear, his incredible and award winning infused honey’s are finally making their way to America!
Melvin, a 23-year-old honey enthusiast, first pitched the idea of rebellion to Attila after discovering his exceptional honey online in Hungary. What began as an international phone call convincing Attila to ship honey to Melvin's home in Bethesda Maryland quickly evolved into a partnership. Together, Melvin and Attila have built Rebel Bear from the ground up, and are on a mission to rebel against boring and bland honey in America!
Today, thanks to the care and craftsmanship of our team in Hungary, Rebel Bear Honey is capable of producing over 47,000 jars a month. Together, we’re on a mission to Rebel Across America by offering tastier & healthier alternatives to the mass-produced honeys and syrups you typically find in your supermarket.
